James 4:8; Proverbs 3:32

God offers His friendship to the godly.
"REFLECTIONS"
1. We are as close to God as we choose it to be. Like any friendship, we must work at developing our friendship with God. Abraham was God's friend just as Lazarus was Jesus' friend.

2. If we want a deeper, more intimate connection with God we must learn to honestly share our feelings with Him, trust Him when He asks us to do something, learn to care about what He cares about and desire his friendship more than anything else.
3. In the Bible, God's friends (David, Abraham, Jeremiah Job etc.) were not perfect but they were honest with their faults, feelings, often complaining, accusing and arguing with God but God didn't seem to be bothered about their frankness. God doesn't expect us to be perfect but He insists on trying to be perfect and complete honesty.
